Introduction
The Herpetological Society of Singapore (HSS) Executive Committee has established the HSS Student Grant, hereafter referred to as “the Grant”. The objectives of the Grant are as follows:
- To support herpetological research at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Singapore
- To build capacity in herpetological science and communication among tertiary students in Singapore by providing financial support for early-career researchers
Under this Grant, the HSS will set aside up to 2000 SGD per year for the above purposes. Selected applicants will receive an award of up to 1000 SGD. Up to two proposals will be selected yearly through panel review, to receive funding.
Applicants must be:
- Undergraduate or post-graduate students undertaking part-time or full-time studies at a local autonomous university in Singapore
- Undertaking a research project focused on reptiles and amphibians (while the scope of the study may be international, we encourage a focus on regional and local herpetofauna) OR presenting their work on reptiles and amphibians at an international conference.
